30
HP Power Unit Four Cylinder Eagle Engines and
Tractors
This engine was restored by Craig
Anderson of Rosholt, WI Craig
is a Machinist from Rosholt WI and is the main organizer of the Rosholt
WI Thresheree. Craig sold it
some time ago and I am not sure who owns it although I was pretty close to
buying it myself!!!!
The first pictures are some
"before" pictures, and in the last few pictures you see the results of
his efforts; a fine running engine on wheels!! I hear there are not many
of the power units around that have a radiator, most are hopper cooled...
In Craig's own words:
Well guys----today was beautiful. The
Eagle runs as well as any will run without a load on it!! It is serial
1778--30 hp. I have attached pics and pay particular attention to the
exhaust manifold. Any pics I've seen always show the power units with the
tractor manifold. But not this one--same manifold as the hopper cooled
units and you can see the manifold looks GREAT! The radiator was such a
pain in the ass!!! I got really lucky---I had to build up/turn the outboard
bearing of the water pump and pour a new bearing but I didn't even have to
repack it the gland!!
